Janet Poitras

I have been the Administrative Assistant since 8/94. I came to LDN for a job. I stay because I love to be here. I greet happy faces in the beginning and the end of every day. I get to tell parents funny things the children have said or done. I get to know every family that comes through our doors. I have brought nephews and grandchildren here and believe this program has instilled a love of learning in each of them.

Sandra Doherty

Hello from Sandra Doherty, the Business Manager. My children, now adults, attended Lowell Day Nursery many years ago. They feel that Lowell Day provided them with the early learning skills and tools they needed to help them grow to become educated and productive adults. I have worked for Lowell Day since 1990.

The Teachers have great longevity with the average of 15 years. "Curriculum has changed the most in my 34 years at Lowell Day Nursery", reports Spence. Our Teachers write curriculum which includes math, science, reading and pre-reading skills, and everything a pre-school student needs to learn. The State of Massachusetts has won "Race to the Top for Early Education" and is working on the "Quality Rating System." Our School is always working on quality and raising the bar for Early Childhood.
